Vice President, Portfolio Management
SUMMARY:
An established private real estate operating and development company is looking for a Vice President, Portfolio Management. This individual would oversee the company’s property management, leasing, and investment management teams. Portfolio consists of several million square feet of grocery anchored shopping centers in the Midwest region.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Portfolio
Management is responsible for leading the operating activities of the company’s property
portfolio, including asset management, leasing and property management.
• Serve on the company’s Leadership Team and will have a prominent leadership role in the
organization, with approximately 40% of the team reporting up to him/her.
• Formulate and implement strategic plans for the portfolio and adapt them to changing market
conditions.
• Manage and maintain existing relationships with capital providers, including the company’s
institutional joint venture partners.
• Accountable for the portfolio’s operating performance relative to budget/ business plan.
• Responsible for ensuring that properties are being proactively managed, and that leasing activity
is optimizing value and cash flow.
• Support the CEO and Leadership Team in crafting and executing the firm’s investment strategy.
• Direct reports to this position include the Leasing team, Director of Property Management, and
Investments Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 4 year college degree required and MBA or Master’s degree in Real Estate preferred
• Strategic thinker with broad commercial real estate and financial background with a minimum of
10 years of relevant experience as an asset manager
• Proven track record in commercial real estate asset management, investment, leasing, and
property management
• Excellent leadership and managerial abilities with demonstrated ability to build and foster
relationships, share knowledge, contribute to a team and acknowledge others.
• Hands on asset management experience in retail real estate in multiple markets
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as listening skills
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills and a finance-driven approach to the business, including
confidence in working with Excel analysis and Argus, and a solid understanding of valuation
metrics
• Detail-oriented with a solid ability to think and communicate strategically
• Open, team-oriented style with the ability to work successfully with a wide range of people,
including the Executive Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Leadership Team, peers, staff,
shareholders, board members, and investors
