General Manager
Summary:
As a player-coach, the General Manager manages a Class A high-rise building in Manhattan. Developed by a private, owner/developer with one of the top portfolios in New York. Responsible for a team, including a Property Manager, Property Administrator and 11-13 Operating Engineers, and Chief Engineer with a focus on (i) maintaining the property to an institutional quality standard, (ii) creating and maintaining exceptional relationships with vendors, contractors and investors, iii) mentoring and developing Property Management personnel, and (iv) managing property financial performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 7-12 years’ experience in property management with Class A high-rise office space.
- 4+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Knowledge of MRI, Building Engines and Nexus.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills across all levels of employees, clients, tenants, and stakeholders to present confidently and effectively build relationships.
- Basic background and understanding of buildings’ MEP and best practices for building and site maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with no one-sizes-fits-all answers.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Self-starter, proactive, and quick decision maker.
- Proficiency in Excel and all Microsoft Office products.
